Signal Level Divided Construction (SLDC)
The circuit handling low-level and high-level signals have been divided into separate blocks to ensure that influences from these signals on each other are held to an absolute minimum. This new chassis design in the DRA-685P is called the Signal Level Divided Construction (SLDC). Signals for output are cleaner than before, allowing them to be reproduced with even greater fidelity and clarity.
High-Quality Power Amplifier Section
100 W + 100 W (8 ohms, 20 Hz - 20 kHz, 0.05%)
Providing 100 watts per channel, into 8 ohms, from 20 Hz to 20 kHz, with no more than .05% total harmonic distortion, the DRA-685P provides separates class audio performance. Together, these components provide superb low impedance drive capability with tremendous dynamic reserve capacity. High speed, wideband discrete power transistors provide delicacy and impact, ideally suited to the needs of the highest quality analog and digital sources.
Multi Source Function
The DRA-685P’s Multi Source function lets you enjoy two different programs in two different rooms. For example, listen to the CD player in the main room, while another family member listens to the tuner in another room in the home. Dedicated multi-room output jacks, with variable volume level adjustment via remote control, are for connection to powered second zone speakers or a second zone amplifier.
Room-to-Room Remote Control
External remote control equipment, including IR re-transmitters and IR remote receivers, such as Denon’s RC-616, 617S, 617W, and 618 devices, can be connected to the IR remote input and output terminals.
Integral System (IS) Remote Controller (RC-872)
The DRA-685P is provided with a pre-learned remote control, that contains codes for other Denon components, along with codes for products from other manufacturers, such as DVD, VCR, TV, etc.
Second Zone Remote Controller (RC-873)
In addition to the main remote, the DRA-685P is also supplied with another remote that is customized for the second zone multi-room functions. It is equipped with second zone source selection, recalling preset radio stations, adjusting the volume, and other functions that can be controlled from the second zone room.
Easy Simulcast Copy
This feature not only permits reception and recording of FM/TV simulcast programs onto videotape, but it can also be used to combine, for example, the sound from a CD with the picture from a video disc.
Record Out Selector
Let’s you listen to one source (example: Tuner), while recording another source (example: CD). Ideal for making unattended tape copies.
Video Terminals
Stereo video sources, such as hi-fi VCR, stereo TV, and DVD can all be easily connected to the DRA-685P’s VDP, VCR and Video Aux terminals.
Video Select Function
Allows you to select a video source, and then select an alternate audio input source, ideal for simulcasting, as well as watching TV sports programs while listening to radio commentary.
40-Station AM/FM Random Preset Memory Tuning
Auto Preset Memory
FM stations can be searched by the tuner, and automatically stored in the preset memory up to 40 stations, ideal for locales with many FM stations.
Sophisticated Tuning Circuit Design
Thanks to the PLL circuit design, reception drift is a thing of the past. The DRA-685 also has a 4-pole varactor diode in its front end to guarantee accurate input of station frequencies.
